Saqlain Mushtaq Appointed As The Spin Bowling Coach and mentor of Multan Sultan

The franchise announced on Saturday that former Pakistani cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq has been appointed as the spin bowling coach and mentor of Pakistan Super League team Multan Sultans. 

If we look at history Mushtaq has served Pakistan cricket team as head coach. This time he will serve as bowling coach and mentor for PSL team Multan Sultans.

However, Mushtaq has represented Pakistan in two formats, both Tests and ODIs. That includes 218 international matches. In the process, he took 496 wickets and etched his name in the annals of history. 

Pakistan Super League team Multan Sultans announced that Saqlain will join Multan Sultans as  bowling coach and team mentor.  Let’s take a look at the team’s official tweet. “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 “𝗗𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗿𝗮”, 𝗦𝗮𝗾𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗵𝘁𝗮𝗾 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘀. The legendary spinner Saqlain_Mushtaq is all set to join the Multan Sultans family as Spin Bowling Coach and Team Mentor!

Further, Multan Sultan has also appointed  World Cup winner Alex Hartley as the assistant fast bowling coach.  He is a former England International and World Cup winner. Interestingly, this time both Hartley and Saqlain are all set to lead the spin department of Multan Sultan.

Earlier, Catherine Dalton was appointed as Multan Sultans’ fast bowling coach. Dalton is so honored for her services that she is the first 30-year-old woman to be named the men’s team’s first female fast bowling coach.

On the other hand, she has earned the honour of being the first female coach in the history of PSL. Dalton was born in England and represented Ireland in four ODIs and four T2Is.

Dalton visited Pakistan on the first two occasions and worked with several players, such as Mohammad Ilyas Sameen Gul and Arshad Iqbal.

Catherine Dalton is an ECB-certified Level Three Advanced Coach. She is prominent in several countries. She previously coached at the National Bowling Academy in the UK and the Ultimate Pace Foundation in India. Moreover, she worked with Deepak Chahar.

She worked as an assistant head fast bowling coach at the UK-based National Fast Bowling Academy in partnership with Lan Pont and Andre Nel.
