Government banned gambling companies from sponsoring some PSL teams and made this announcement through a letter written to the PCB, PTV, PBC, PTA, PEMRA, and SECP officials. 

However, the government has banned betting, and gambling companies from sponsoring some Pakistan Super League teams, and advertising to media houses.

All stakeholders were also urged to refrain from doing business with such companies. This statement is issued to terminate their existing dealings with such surrogate companies.

The Ministry has come to know that some betting organizations have attempted to enter the Pakistani market by changing their names. It is to be noted that the Ministry of Information made this announcement through a letter written to the PCB, PTV, PBC, PTA, PEMRA, and SECP officials. 

Moreover, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting says that such a phenomenon is tagged as surrogacy. Such firms are called surrogates of the mother enterprises.

Although some such firms were busy with sponsorship and advertising contracts with sports enterprises, The ministry says these are actually betting and gambling companies after listing the companies in the letter. 

The ministry further criticises these companies. It says that such operations are mostly run by hostile countries whose motive is corruption in the Pakistani team. They want to destroy Pakistan morally and further. The aim is to further plunge Pakistan into an economic crisis by transferring untaxed money in dollars out of the country.

Advertisements of such companies are run on social media, print media, digital electronics, etc. This advertisement focuses on preventing them from operating. 

It hereby implements that the Pakistan Cricket Board, Pakistan Super League, PSL Franchise Clubs Cricket, television channels, radio broadcasters, internet platforms, newspapers, magazines, and all other advertising platforms are advised not to associate with any of these companies.  Avoid doing business with such surrogate companies at all. 

The government has decided to immediately liquidate all existing substances with such surrogate companies. The decision comes amid a massive crackdown on smuggling of dollars.

It was also announced earlier that the government has also launched a crackdown on dollar smuggling and hoarding, which is dragging down the national economy.

According to further reports, government sources reveal that important policies are in the pipeline, thus signalling changes in currency and commodity trading.

The sources place emphasis on upgrading the screening system at sea and airports. While also making it clear that such activities would not be tolerated.
