New Zealand fast bowler Shani Bond was appointed as Rajasthan fast bowling coach this time in the 2024 IPL season. The Indian Premier League franchise announced the nominations for New Zealand cricketer Shane Bond on Monday.
Bond will this time replace Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga. The Kiwi also contributed a lot to the team as he joined Bombay in 2015. He played a role in helping the franchise win four titles in the T20 competition from 2015 to 2020.
Kumar Sangakkara, the Royals’ Director of Cricket, said:
“Shane Bond is one of the greatest bowlers in modern-day cricket and brings with himself a wealth of experience and knowledge to mentor some of the best in the business.”
Speaking further about Shane Bond, he said: “Shane Bond is someone who has a keen eye for helping make the best even better and we are happy to welcome him to the franchise.”

However, Shane, who is also a former New Zealand coach, is extremely happy to join the Royals.
“It is a forward-thinking franchise that is poised to do well, and I am very happy to be a part of their vision”, he said.
“This bowling group is a perfect blend of youth and experience, and it will be a great experience for me to work with them.”Further to Shani Bond’s previous achievements, this is the melodious IPL title he won in 2008.
Apart from this, the band has confirmed that he is a great cricketer by taking 87 wickets in Test cricket as well as 147 wickets in ODIs and 25 wickets in T20s.
