Pakistan’s fast bowler Naseem Shah has revealed an injury to his right shoulder during a recent Asia Cup match in 2023. The report in Dubai revealed that the injury is worse than suspected, which could keep him out for the rest of the year.

If secondary scans match the first report, it is likely that Naseem will take time to recover. The cricketing world is watching the situation closely, and fans are worried about the possible absence of fast bowler Naseem Shah from Pakistan’s World Cup squad.

However, Naseem Shah’s World Cup 2023 entry revolves around the medical reports that have left everyone in suspense. 

But all these possibilities now depend on Naseem Shah’s second medical report, which will come in a few days, after which the PCB will take an official decision. Naseem is not only a red ball expert but has become a bowler of all formats, his non-participation is proving to be a big challenge for Pakistan.

Naseem has faced injury problems many times in his early international career. Once, a back injury kept him away from cricket for 14 months. The Pakistan Cricket Board’s medical team is providing the best care for Naseem Shah’s shoulder injury during the Asia Cup 2023.

According to Babr Azam, Shah was the centerpiece of World Cup plans. If Naseem Shah is not able to participate in the upcoming World Cup, it will be a big challenge for the Pakistan cricket team.

As PCB had included Zaman Khan in the Asia Cup, they should find a possible replacement in the Icc Men’s ODI World Cup as well. Naseem could have been replaced by Muhammad Hussain, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Zaman Khan, in the Cricket ODI World Cup, but he is also suffering from an injury at present.

It is very sad to say that they may not be a part of the Pakistan Super League 2024, and this is very unfortunate for the Pakistan team. His inclusion in the Australia test series is also doubtful.

As the PCB  has issued a statement on the shoulder injury, an official decision is expected soon after the secondary scans are received. I think the medical report will change the map of all these possibilities, and Naseem Shah will be a part of CWC 2023.
